Berlin, May 13, 1909. TELEGRAPH immediately estimated mileage Hupeh section Hankow-Szechuan Railway, Hupeb-Hunan section of Hankow-Canton Railway, and name terminus of the latter. Reply Addis, Hotel Bristol, Berlin. For your private information, negotiations not proceeding satisfactorily. Germans are not inclined to concede anything.

Peking, May 14, 1909. REFERRING to your telegram of the 13th, Hankow-Canton Railway, Hupeh- Hunan section, from Wachang, through Yochow Changsha to Chenchow Prefecture. Southern frontier Hunan, estimated length of nearly 1,800 li, equal to 600 miles.
Hankow-Szechuan Railway, Hupeh section main line Jehang, through Hsiangyang to Kuangchui, on Peking-Hankow Railway, estimated at 800 Ti, equal to 266 miles. Branch line, Ichang to Hanyang, surveyed; 798 li-266 miles.
